This is for my darling Angel twin Matthew,He and his twin Thomas were born at 25wks on the 26th of October 1994 sadly matthew being the donor twin of ttts was just too ill to survive and he died on the 28th of October not even 48 hrs old.
I remember when i found out i was having twins i laughed and laughed and even joked that my mum would be pleased as she was always up for "buy one get one free offers" What else could you do with 3 beautiful girls already what was 2 more!!! Looking back now i should've read up more but as most people do I thought life was rosy and all would be fine,oh how wrong.At our 21wk scan we were told that you two had developed ttts and were sent to a specialist hospital to see how bad and if anything could be done-after scans and a discussion with consultant it was decided to go for a op to try and sever the blood vessels that linked you both and give both a fighting chance,you survived the op amazingly and i remember how active you were after it was wonderful and again life was rosy-NOT- i was in and out of hospital and finally after 3 wks at just 25wks you were born by emergency c-section I was under GA as i couldnt bear to be awake asthey worked on your tiny bodies as i knew they would as it was only a slim chance you would make it through delivery.When i awoke i saw the pics of you it was so so special you had both made it linked to wires,tubes etc but PERFECT!! Then it happened the nurses n duty on the nicu unit came and told me to come as you had taken a turn for the worse,after they tried to save you we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let you go (given the chance i would 've gone with you) Your funeral was the worst day of my life but everyone was there to say goodbye.
Oh my darling Angel I just know what a tinker you would be and what mischief you and Thomas would get up to.How i so so miss that-they say you can't miss what you never had but how wrong are they-you two running around fighting and giggling oh my darling i miss you so much now and forever you will always be there love you lots little man xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
